bye-bye

we're having a lot of fun over here at chez silverman with the simple gesture of saying goodbye. jordan got a heart-melting, "bye daddy" from abel this morning. clear as a bell. abie never ceases to surprise and delight us (although we won't be holding our breaths to hear it again - he's sometimes a one-hit wonder with words). and oskar waves goodbye to EVERYTHING we leave. the neighbor's cat gets a wave, airplanes as they pass over, cars driving bye, de-headed flowers. but my favorite, by far, is how he waves bye-bye when he turns the last page of the book over. such a grateful gesture that i can't get enough of.
