adios
we did it! we officially eliminated the middle of the night feed for the boys. it was becoming ridiculous, waking them up at 2am to feed them a few ounces, all of us in a sleepy daze. so we decided to give cold turkey a try last night and low and behold...the boys slept right through it and continued to sleep until their usual 6am wake up time. now that's some glorious sleep!

Yeah!! Enjoy the extra zzzz's!
Hi again!
Thanks for visiting our blog again. It is great to keep up with you guys as well! And of course, your boys are incredibly cute...!!!
As far as the sunshade, we got it at Target in Chicago. We don't have a Target in Anchorage...but we're getting one in a year and a half!!!! Anyway, it did not come with mosquito netting (I wish it did!), but they have one at REI that has it with netting, it is just a little smaller and about double the cost! Not sure if you have a netting for one of your strollers, but that might work to drape over?
Ozzy sounds like Finn and Abel sounds exactly like Reid. He'll do it, but he has to have a GOOD reason too. He rather kick and chew on his feet instead.
Insider tips for the plane? Board early! We took one Bjorn with us, and put one kid in the Bjorn so at least one of us would have two hands free. That way, when we got to the plane, we could get the other babe out of the carseat, fold the stoller and "unclick" the other carseat while one of us held both of the kids (one in the Bjorn and the other with our two spare hands).
Also, have everything you need available in the front seat pocket. We had clothe diapers, bottles, pacifiers, toys, etc. We fed them at landing and take off (and on the long flight from Chicago to Anchorage, we fed them three times!).
We were prepared for the worst, but hoped for the best...and they traveled really well. We were up at 3:30am or so (AK Time) and landed in Chicago around 7pm, then it was traffic and a car ride for two hours. They came out of the came smiley and happy to meet new friends and family. I think babies this age travel really well. We did bring 20 pairs of earplugs to pass out to fellow passengers though...just in case!
Finn did throw up ALL OVER me right after take off on our way to Seattle and then again on our trip home. It was horrible, because it went all down my back and I was wet and smelled so lovely the rest of the way. My fault though for not having the rag handy!
We let them stay in their footed pj's the whole flight. Since they woke up early and I did not want to bother with finding lost socks on the plane.
WARNING!!! We sat on either side of the aisles and boarded early and EVERY SINGLE PASSENGER made a comment as they boarded. So, just be prepared to answer the usual list of twin questions over and over again....literally, about 100 times. We finally just covered one with a blanket so he looked like he was sleeping! :)
OK---how's that for a book!?! Good luck with the trip and let us know how it goes.
They'll do great!
