the look of things to come

it's heating up here in austin (85+ degrees!) so we're appropriately spending more and more time outside in less and less clothing. today i glimpsed my future. it's a fun, adventurous and slightly scary image. two little boys running around the backyard like mad men, spraying water at each other, flinging wet dirt everywhere, chasing the garder snake back into the rocks (for real - i think he's our friend though!), and falling backwards from the patio into the raised plant beds. oh, and i forgot the best part! the joy of smearing said wet dirt all over their bodies. let's just say we took our bedtime bath early tonight.

Haha, I remember babysitting my friend's then-3-year-old. His evening consisted of taking handfuls of dirt and gleefully rubbing them into his hair. Then, he found a hole that was dug for a fence post. He spent almost an hour... jump in, jump out. Throw dirt in, throw dirt out.

The bathtub had quite the ring of silt when we were done that night.

But hey, they can always get clean again, right? Might as well have fun and get dirty.

Oh wow! I think I'd just get out the hose! :)

We got 9 inches of snow on Sunday and we are supposed to get another 12 inches tonight...I just got my snow tires off a few weekends ago and am dreaming of 85 degrees!

Dirty bathwater aside, it'll be fun to watch the boys PLAY in the dirt. EATING the dirt though, that's gonna be a whole different story!
